YOUNG SHERLOCK Reveals First Images of Its Genius Detective

Well, Sherlock is hard enough to deal with when he’s fully grown. We imagine a young Sherlock will be an absolute nightmare, but in the best way. Of course, since we loved Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies, we bet we’ll enjoy this chapter of Sherlock Holmes’ tale too. However, we must insist that Watson appear somewhere. Is it really Sherlock Holmes if Holmes doesn’t have his Watson? Timelines be damned. We do, however, see Sherlock Holmes’ arch-nemesis Moriarty appear in the images. In Young Sherlock, James Moriarty is played by The Wheel of Time‘s Dónal Finn. Potentially, it seems that Moriarty and Sherlock are actually friends first at Oxford. We very much look forward to their intense interactions.

Although it’s not stated, we’re choosing to imagine this character as a spiritual younger version of Robert Downey Jr.’s character. And why not? We do love an origin story and Sherlock Holmes.
