Whoever wins is still going to lose.
The Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies go head-to-head in their second play-in game. The Mavs are fresh off a dominant win against the Kings, while the Grizzlies are in a bit of a funk, losing to the Warriors 121-116 this past Tuesday.
While we saw a rare performance from Anthony Davis, this time, the Mavs play away on the Grizzlies' turf. Ja Morant leads with a hyper-aggressive offensive style, and even with an interim head coach, Morant will have the formula for keeping consistent pressure on the Mavericks.
The Grizzlies are a 6.5-point favorite going into Friday's 2025 SoFi Play-In matchup, and everyone has their money on Memphis.
Ultimately, winning this play-in game doesn't matter much for either team, as they will go on to face the No. 1 seed, OKC. Neither team can even hope to beat the Thunder.

Memphis is sending the Mavericks back on the bus home. Ja Morant will use the momentum and home-court advantage to keep non-stop pressure on the Mavericks. Even with Anthony Davis playing/healthy, the Mavericks play a bit...sluggishly compared to the Grizzlies.
The Mavs don't have a shot.
