In an SEC clash between two Heisman hopefuls, the Florida Gators will travel to Death Valley to take on the LSU Tigers. While both of these teams were highly ranked to start the year, both have had a slower start on the offensive side of the ball than they had hoped for with an elite-level quarterback on each team. Florida is coming off a gross loss to in-state rival USF. Will they bounce back in one of the most hostile environments in all of college sports?

Jake Slaughter - Center - Slaughter is one of the most experienced linemen on the team. He was a First-Team All-American and had very high Pro Football Focus grades in run blocking and pass protection. Keeping Slaughter healthy and dominant is crucial for both giving Lagway time and establishing a solid run game.
Jaden Robinson – Linebacker – Robinson led the defense with a team-high 13 total tackles, demonstrating his importance at linebacker in 2024. Robinson will be needed to win the battle of midfield.
Aaron Anderson - Wide Receiver - Anderson had a breakout season in 2024 with 784 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s looked like one of the most reliable targets for Nussmeier, especially in the middle of the field. LSU will lean on him to stretch defenses and make clutch catches.
Whit Weeks - Linebacker - Weeks was LSU’s top tackler in 2024 with 125 tackles. As a linebacker, he’ll anchor the defense, especially close to the line of scrimmage and in reaction to the run game.

Florida enters this game as a +7.5 touchdown underdog, and for good reason. It is nearly impossible to enter Death Valley and escape with a win. Winning gets even harder when you are coming off an ugly road loss to then-unranked USF. Florida can win this game or keep it close at the very least, but LSU's QB Garrett Nussmeier is one of the most experienced QBs in the country and knows how to perform in big moments. I like LSU to cover and win this game in double digits.
