What sports offerings does DIRECTV STREAM provide?

DIRECTV STREAM is stacked with channels, especially if you go into one of the upper-tier packages like Ultimate or Premier. Yes, you’re paying top dollar for your streaming service, but you’re getting more channels than you know what to do with — and that includes your sports networks. Not only will you find the usual suspects here, like local networks (ABC, CBS and Fox) and standard sports channels (ESPN and ESPN2), but you’ll also find plenty of regional sports networks, including Bally Sports and SportsNet. Just be advised that you won’t get RSNs on the Entertainment plan.

The Longhorn Network comes into play with the Sports Pack, which is another $14.99 per month and can be added to any plan. This gives you an additional 30-plus channels to watch, including SEC Network and ACC Network.

How to watch Longhorn Network on Sling TV

  • Pricing begins at $40.00/mo
  • 31+ live TV channels
  • Free trial currently unavailable

Sling TV is one of only two streaming services that currently offers the Longhorn Network — and you still have to get one of the add-ons to get it. Sling TV has three different package plans to choose from: Sling Orange, Sling Blue and Sling Orange + Blue. The Sling Orange Plan, which has about 32 channels (based on your market), is $40 per month. The Sling Orange Plan, with about 42 channels, costs $40 per month. The combo plan, Sling Orange + Blue, which has all of the channels in each singular plan, is $55 per month.

The Longhorn Network is in Sling TV’s Sports Extra add-on, which is $11 monthly for another 14 sports channels. That means the most cost-efficient way to get the Longhorn Network is to subscribe to Sling Orange with the Sports Extra for $51 per month.

What sports offerings does Sling TV provide?

Sling TV has a variety of sports channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, MotorTrend and more. In some areas, you’ll have access to local channels like ABC and CBS, which may also show the sporting events you’re after. There are a few regional sports networks available on Sling TV in some markets, but the options are extremely limited.

Sling TV does offer a Sports Extra add-on, which includes 14 channels. In this add-on, you’ll find the Longhorn Network, Pac 12 Network, ESPNU, MLB Network, NBA TV and NHL Network. With this extra set of channels, Sling TV becomes a well-rounded sports streaming service for most sports fans, as it provides a wide variety of sports offerings (especially for college sports fanatics). While Sling TV doesn’t offer much in the way of regional sports networks (RSNs), it does have a lot of other sports channels, games and events to choose from.

How to watch Longhorn Network on the app

The Longhorn Network doesn’t have its own app, however, you can watch the Longhorn Network through the ESPN app if you have a cable subscription.

Is live sports streaming worth it?

Live sports streaming without cable gives you the freedom to tailor your viewing experience and watch the teams and sports that you’re interested in the most. With cable, you’re beholden to an entire cable package that is often cluttered with channels you may never watch, but with streaming, you can pick and choose services and add-ons that suit your lifestyle.
