Alysa Liu was nearly the victim of a ruined Met Gala moment after one man tried breaking into the event while she was on the red carpet.

The man, a protester, had designs on leaping over a barrier right in front of the figure skater, who looked a bit put off.

The footage below shows police tackling the man to the ground after he attempts to hurdle the barrier and run onto the red carpet. You can also see Liu fighting to keep her composure during the commotion.

Fortunately, there was no further disturbance, with law enforcement quickly getting a lid on things and detaining the protester. It’s said he was picketing against Amazon’s alleged victimization of its employees, given that owner Jeff Bezos was an honorary chair.

Liu was able to carry on posing for the cameras.

The 20-year-old wore a burgundy Louis Vuitton dress, matching heels and a diamond necklace.

Liu made history at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina this year, becoming the first American woman to win gold in singles figure skating in 24 years. She is now one of the most recognizable athletes in the country.

Her Met Gala appearance came just hours after Louis Vuitton unveiled her as a brand ambassador.

“As a Louis Vuitton ambassador, I get to show you my style, strength, and softness because I know that luxury is in the details, and the same goes for choreographing a program and designing a collection,” she said, per Fashion Network

Liu added that, “Life is all about connection, and Louis Vuitton has made me feel included. It’s a really empowering feeling to be part of something so artistic.”
