Adrian Newey’s manager shuts down rumors of the aero genius signing a Ferrari deal
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Newey is considered as the best designer in F1 history. The 65-year-old played an instrumental role in the success of Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull. Despite dominating the sport with Red Bull in recent years, Newey decided to leave Milton Keynes. Now, the Briton’s manager and former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan gave an update on his future.

Jordan dismissed rumors of Adrian Newey already signing a deal with Ferrari. The Irishman claimed that the aero genius was not inclined towards any particular team at the moment. Previously, Eddie Jordan had insisted that Newey could take some time off before returning to the sport.

Agreement made with Ferrari? It's not like that, I can lay down my life on this. At the moment there is no inclination to go in a particular direction. Eddie Jordan said on Formula For Success podcast

Moreover, the former F1 team owner reckoned that Adrian Newey was still evaluating opportunities for his future. Jordan claimed that he and Newey were waiting for teams to approach them. Williams’ James Vowles has expressed interest in reuniting the 65-year-old with the Grove-based team.

We are evaluating the opportunities and let the others come to talk to us. Eddie Jordan asserted

Eddie Jordan claims Adrian Newey should think about ‘himself’ over F1 future

Jordan highlighted that Newey has worked in motorsport ever since his graduation when he first joined Leyton House. The Irishman claimed that talks will continue to happen in the coming weeks as the aero genius decides about his future plans.

There will be talks, and there will be ongoing talks because we have yet to decide what Adrian wants to do. He has worked in this field since university, Eddie Jordan explained

Moreover, Eddie Jordan affirmed that apart from the various teams Newey had worked at over the years, it was important to think about the ‘fifth’ team, which is Adrian Newey himself. As such, Jordan insisted that the decision would be fully made by the 65-year-old himself.

In addition to all the potential teams we are talking about, the fifth team he should think about it's himself.  Eddie Jordan noted

Certainly, Adrian Newey would need to get a good opportunity if he decides to continue in F1. The aero genius has achieved historic success in the sport. As such, if Newey doesn’t get a convincing prospect, the 65-year-old could even decide to take a sabbatical or retire altogether.
