Carlos Sainz reveals a timeline as to when Ferrari would be ‘consistently’ able to fight Red Bull

Ferrari has a podium in every race so far this season, which is a far better start compared to where they were last year. Carlos Sainz , who claimed another podium in Suzuka believes that his outfit needs a few upgrades to consistently keep the pressure on Red Bull.

The Milton-Keynes-based team has a clear domination on the grid. However, Ferrari’s SF-24 has shown a consistent pace at almost every circuit.

With Better strategy and both drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc’s excellent skills, the team has been able to pull off good results.

I think they are definitely going to have an advantage in the first third of the season until we bring one or two upgrades that make us fight them more consistently. By that time maybe it's a bit too late with the advantage that they might have on the championship. In the meantime, we need more Australias! Which I don't see Red Bull, as a team, making these mistakes very often. Carlos Sainz told: Racingnews365

Ferrari is 21 points behind Red Bull in the constructors’ championship. The outfit needs to optimize all the opportunities in the first half of the season if they want to challenge for the title. The upcoming races will hold immense significance for the Fred Vasseur-led team.

Carlos Sainz laments missing out on the Saudi Arabian GP

Carlos Sainz had to withdraw from the Saudi Arabian GP due to appendicitis. Ferrari had no option but to resort to their reserve driver, Oliver Bearman, who ended up scoring points in his debut race. However, that race cost a lot of points to Ferrari.

Sainz himself felt bad for not being able to perform as he believed it would affect the overall result in the constructors’ championship.

A shame, because also I missed a race, which for both the team and me, it could be costly in the championship. We’re competing in one race less, but at the same time, we're going to give it our best shot. Carlos Sainz via: Racingnews365

The ongoing campaign is Ferrari’s last year with the Maranello-based team. Despite feeling a bit low for not being able to perform at Jeddah, Sainz holds a competitive outlook going forward. He believes that personally, there is nothing to lose and thus, he is going to give his all in the upcoming races to make up for missing the Jeddah event!
