Charles Leclerc Drops Hilarious Take on Why Hungary Is His Worst Track

Charles Leclerc has delivered one of the funniest driver soundbites of the season, offering a tongue-in-cheek explanation for why Hungary continues to be one of his least successful tracks.

The Monegasque driver was asked why the Hungaroring seemed such a challenge for him despite its similarities to Monaco — a circuit where he often excelled.

Leclerc, smiling, replied: “I don’t know, I wish I knew.”

The follow-up pointed out that many drivers describe Hungary as “Monaco without walls.” Leclerc’s answer? “Maybe it’s the walls I’m missing.”

The witty remark quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans praising Leclerc’s ability to laugh at his own struggles and turn an awkward topic into an entertaining moment.

The Hungaroring, often called “Monaco without the walls” because of its twisty, technical layout, has not been Leclerc’s strongest venue, despite his impressive one-lap pace at similar circuits.

While Leclerc has claimed pole positions and strong results at Monaco, his Hungarian outings have typically fallen short of expectations, often marred by setup struggles or challenging race-day performances. The comment, however, shows how comfortable and self-aware the Ferrari star has become in handling media narratives about his performance.

With Leclerc continuing to chase wins and consistency this season, fans are already looking to see if his “worst track” reputation can finally change — or if the Hungaroring remains his personal nemesis.
