Charles Leclerc explains reason for signing long-term Ferrari contract, claims they have ‘the best chance of having the best car’
IPA

Before the news of Lewis Hamilton‘s multi-year contract with Ferrari took over the Formula 1 world because of the sheer surprising element in it, Charles Leclerc had made the headlines because of his new deal with the Scuderia. The Monegasque, who debuted with Ferrari way back in 2019 as a young racer with immense promise, has been branded time and again by several pundits as the Scuderia’s biggest chance for winning the World Championship.

And it appears that Ferrari have no wish to let go of Charles Leclerc any time soon as they renewed his contract, which was supposed to come to an end in 2024, even before the season kicked off. And while announcing their new extended partnership, Ferrari did not even specify the end date to Leclerc’s new contract, thus implying that this is their first-ever endless deal in Formula 1. But this made several people wonder why Charles Leclerc chose to sign such a long contract with Ferrari in the first place–and the Monegasque has given an answer to that.

With several wins in the junior categories including the FIA Formula 2 Championship under his belt, Charles Leclerc is indeed one of the most talented racers of his time. Thus, it is justified that he is ambitious, and he wants to grab the World Championship soon. And the 26-year-old believes his best chance for doing so lies with Ferrari.

What made me sign a longer contract was that I believe in this project. I believe we have the best chance of having the best car in the field in the next few years. Charles Leclerc claimed, via Motorsport-Magazin.

Charles Leclerc dabbled in some music to fight the season break blues

As a super-busy Ferrari racer who has to travel to various exotic locations around the world for the F1 Grands Prix, Charles Leclerc hardly has enough time on his hands to indulge in his passions. But still, he has mastered the art of playing the piano so well that he released three of his recordings last year on Spotify, and instantly went viral for them.

Ever since then, Charles Leclerc’s fans have always wanted to listen to more of his music, so he has finally decided to give it to them. The Monegasque collaborated with the famed French pianist Sofiane Permane during the post-2013 season break. And the product of their collaboration is a beautiful EP with 4 songs, named as ‘The Dreamer’.

Charles Leclerc’s venture into the world of music has already been a fruitful one as his three songs–AUS23, MIA23, and MON23–are superhits on Spotify. It is believed that the Ferrari racer will also clock huge number of sales with his new EP. Thus, it can be very well said that even though retirement does not seem to be on Leclerc’s agenda, the 26-year-old will have plenty of passions to work upon once he hangs up his F1 boots once and for all.
