Charles Leclerc’s Hungarian GP went from dream to disaster, and the Ferrari driver made sure the world knew exactly how he felt.
Starting from pole position, Leclerc was tipped as a favorite to win. But from Lap 40, his race fell apart due to a chassis issue, turning what should have been a podium fight into damage limitation. The Monegasque star’s emotions boiled over on team radio, delivering one of his most furious rants yet.
“This is so incredibly frustrating. We’ve lost all competitiveness. You just have to listen to me, I would have found a different way of managing those issues,” Leclerc fumed. “Now it’s just undriveable. Undriveable. It’s a miracle if we finish on the podium.”
Postrace, Leclerc explained the situation further: “in the car I didn’t have all the information, now I have. We had an issue from lap 40 on the chassis. From that moment I was just a passenger. I’m disappointed, but these are the races. At least I know what happened in the background.”
The Hungarian GP only deepens a frustrating trend for Leclerc: he has now converted just one of his last 16 pole positions into a race win.
While Ferrari showed promising pace earlier in the weekend, Sunday exposed lingering issues with consistency and reliability, leaving fans questioning whether the team can mount a real title challenge anytime soon.

Leclerc’s outburst also reignites conversations around Ferrari’s race management. Despite being one of the fastest drivers on the grid, the Monegasque has often been let down by strategy calls, technical failures, and a car that too often fades when it matters most.
For now, Ferrari will regroup and search for solutions as Formula 1 heads into its summer break. But for Leclerc, who is desperate to deliver Ferrari’s first drivers’ title since 2007, another opportunity slipping away from pole position will sting for weeks to come.
