Netflix have confirmed when the eighth season of Drive to Survive will be released, with the F1 documentary series set to return ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The popular show, which made its debut on 8 March 2019, will be back for another run next year. Many fans see it as a welcome way to catch up on all the action from the previous season.
Over the past seven years, Drive to Survive has played a significant role in attracting millions of new viewers to Formula One.
The series takes fans inside some of F1’s most memorable moments, like Romain Grosjean’s Bahrain crash in 2020 and the heated exchange between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner in 2022.
With cameras regularly seen throughout last season, there will be plenty of interest in which storylines end up featured this time around.
Formula 1 has confirmed that the eighth season of Drive to Survive will arrive on Netflix on 27 February 2026.
The new series, which will document the 2025 title race between Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, is set to be released one week after pre-season testing wraps up in Bahrain.
Fans won’t have long to wait before the new campaign begins. The Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for March 6, giving viewers just a week to catch up before the racing resumes.
Drive to Survive season 8 will stream exclusively on Netflix, with all previous seven seasons still available on the platform.
No episode list has been announced yet, but the show is expected to stick with its usual format of ten episodes, each running between half an hour and an hour long.
A basic Netflix subscription costs £5.99 per month, and you can watch it online or through the app on phones, tablets and smart TVs.

The eighth season of Drive to Survive hasn’t had any official plot details released by Netflix yet, but their promotional image does give us a few hints. It includes several drivers expected to play major roles in the 2025 season.
George Russell also appears in the artwork, suggesting there’ll be some focus on his new position as Mercedes’ lead driver following Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave the team.
Russell ended last season fourth overall, taking over as Mercedes’ senior driver after the team brought in Kimi Antonelli for the year.
The teaser also shows Hamilton looking frustrated after a tough first year with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion joined the Italian team at the start of last year and went through his first season without a podium finish in nearly two decades.
Other storylines from 2025 that could feature include Nico Hulkenberg’s first podium at Silverstone and Red Bull’s decision to part ways with Christian Horner after two decades leading the team.
