Formula E races in the very hot and humid Jakarta, Indonesia on June 22 at the Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit.
The Jakarta E-Prix is on June 20 with FP1, where all 22 drivers will familiarise themselves with the Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit.
The following day there will be FP2 and qualifying, helping build up the action and excitement for the race.
There will only be one race in Jakarta on June 22, which is different to the recent double headers in Monaco, Tokyo and Shanghai.
Formula E made their debut at the Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit on June 4, 2022, in season 8. They also raced on June 3, 2023, in season 9 of the sport but didn’t race in season 10.
The Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit is 2.370 km long and is located in North Jakarta, right on Jakarta Bay.
The track kicks off with a long run into a tight opening sector and then to a flowing series of turns and banked corners. There is a tight complex to round out the lap, with a long run down the fast start/finish straight, great for overtaking.
Additionally, there is a hairpin at Turn 13, which will make racing exciting with a harsh braking zone and different racing lines.
Mitch Evans won the first race in the Indonesian capital, with Jean-Éric Vergne in second and Edoardo Mortara in third.
The Kiwi driver has been on the podium here in both years Formula E has raced in Jakarta (2022 and 2023). He will be hopeful to overcome his poor season so far by getting big points.
Jean-Éric Vergne is in contention to fight for a podium after his second-place finish in race 1 in Shanghai.
Pascal Wehrlein won in race 1 in Jakarta in 2023, and will definitely be in the fight to win after his podium in China.
Maximilian Günther won in race 2 in Jakarta. The German could also be a contender this year, as he has won in Jeddah and Shanghai this season.
Furthermore, Jake Dennis got a podium in both races in the Indonesian capital, so he will hope to repeat this performance.
The other driver to stand on the podium was Mitch Evans, who has struggled to adapt to Jaguar’s GEN 3 EVO car.
The favourite to win in 2025 is Günther after his excellent performance here in Season 9. However, championship leader Oliver Rowland is likely to challenge him despite not finishing on the podium in either race in China.
DS Penske have the momentum after scoring their first ever 1-2 in Shanghai.
Jaguar will also hope to repeat their win in Shanghai (Nick Cassidy won race 2) by scoring several points here after a terrible season 11.
Oliver Rowland continues his lead in the Drivers’ Championship. With 171 points, the Brit has a lead of 68 points over Wehrlein who has 103 points.
Sitting in third place is Antonio Felix da Costa with 88 points, with each Porsche driver scoring a podium in Shanghai.
The young British driver Taylor Barnard is fourth with 86 points, only two points away from rising up the standings. In fifth position is Jean-Éric Vergne who has risen up the standings with a total of 74 points.
In the Teams’ standings, Nissan lost their lead over Porsche in Shanghai and the German team have claimed first position. Porsche are first with 191 points, while Nissan follows with 190 points, with just one point separating them.
Meanwhile, DS Penske have risen up to third in the Teams’ standings, coming to Jakarta with 145 points.
McLaren have fallen down to fourth by scoring 113 points, with the team having a terrible race 2 in Shanghai.
Additionally, Nissan have managed to stay first in the Manufacturers’ championship. Nissan have secured 285 points so far in season 11, with only two double-header races left – Berlin and London.
In second place are Porsche with 259 points, while Stellantis are third with 213 points.
Lastly, Jaguar are in fourth place with 184 points, while Mahindra have dropped down to fifth with 129 points.
