Lando Norris has had a decent start to the 2024 F1 season. McLaren faced their share of issues during the early 2023 season. However, the Woking-based squad bounced back from the issues and turned the tide in the latter half of last year. Now, former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan reflected upon Norris’ old habits and attitude towards racing in Formula 1.

Eddie Jordan highlighted that Lando Norris was loved by everyone on the grid. Additionally, Jordan pointed out how Norris was a handsome boy and came from a lovely family. The ex-F1 team boss claimed that the 24-year-old was a ‘model son’ and was also well-educated and aware of where he belonged. These qualities increased the attractiveness for Norris according to the 76-year-old.

He is worshiped and loved by everyone, isn't he? He is a handsome boy, his parents are lovely. He is the model son, well educated, he knows where he belongs.  Eddie Jordan said on the Formula for Success podcast (H&T: speedweek.com).

The Irishman mentioned that he wanted to see more struggle and viciousness from Norris. Apart from this, Jordan reckoned that the Briton could’ve converted a few podiums into victories. The 24-year-old holds the record for most podiums in F1 without a single victory. Regardless, the 76-year-old made it clear that he wanted to see real fight and determination from Lando Norris as he competes in the pinnacle of motorsport.

But I would like to see a little more struggle from him, I miss the viciousness. Could he have converted one or the other of his podium finishes into a victory? I think so. I want to experience more action, a real fight, real determination. Eddie Jordan said.

Eddie Jordan claims Lando Norris has what it takes to be an F1 World Champion

Eddie Jordan recalled Nigel Mansell‘s successful career in F1 and how nobody came past him on certain days. Hence, the 76-year-old expected the same amount of self-confidence, passion, and dedication to win races from the Briton. Norris has showcased his racing mettle on multiple occasions. The 24-year-old has what it takes to win a race, all he needs now is to put his head in the game and push for the maiden victory.

For me it is clear – Nigel was less talented in some respects than some of his opponents. But on certain days nobody came past him. And that's exactly what I'm missing from Lando Norris –. I want to feel this self-confidence, this dedication, this passion. Eddie Jordan noted.

Additionally, the former team owner asserted that Norris was ‘blessed’ with raw talent and had what it took to win a race. The 24-year-old was not only capable of winning a race but also the World Championship according to Eddie Jordan. Hence, the coming season will showcase how Norris builds resistance against Red Bull dominance and puts his foot down to score great results.

He [Lando Norris] is so blessed with raw talent, he really has not only what it takes to be a GP winner, but also a world champion. Eddie Jordan mentioned.

The 2024 season is off to a great start for McLaren as the team is outshining Mercedes currently. Woking has also showcased great stability recently, paired up with good strategy. Hence, a race win might be in the works for Lando Norris if Red Bull produces another integral issue during a race weekend.
