Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, and Others React to Charles Leclerc’s Personal Announcement

Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc had fans and fellow drivers flooding social media with congratulations after announcing his engagement to longtime girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux.

The Ferrari driver shared the heartwarming news on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos from a beautifully lit proposal surrounded by red roses and candles.

“Mr. and Mrs. Leclerc,” he captioned the post, confirming the engagement that quickly became one of the most talked-about moments in the F1 community this week.

In the photos shared by the couple, their pet dog, Leo, is also seen wearing a bone-shaped collar with "Dad wants to marry you" engraved on it.

Congratulations Pour In for the Couple

Leclerc’s announcement drew immediate reactions from his peers, including some of the sport’s biggest names.

His Ferrari teammate, Lewis Hamilton, was among the first to comment, writing, “Congratulations to you both.” His warm message received thousands of likes within hours, reflecting the camaraderie shared among F1’s elite.

Leclerc’s ex-teammate Carlos Sainz also chimed in with an enthusiastic response, commenting, “Yesssss,” while McLaren's Oscar Piastri kept it short and sweet with a simple, “Congrats!”

The official Scuderia Ferrari Instagram account joined the celebration as well, writing, “Fantastic news!! Congratulations.” Meanwhile, other current and former F1 stars like Esteban Ocon and Daniil Kvyat also wished the couple, "Congratulations to both of you!" both stated.

A Special Moment Away from the Track for Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux

The post quickly gained traction, amassing millions of likes and tens of thousands of comments from fans worldwide. Many praised Leclerc’s romantic gesture, while others celebrated seeing one of F1’s most popular drivers share such a personal milestone.

Leclerc and Saint Mleux were publicly linked in early 2023 and made their debut as a couple at Wimbledon in July 2023. Alexandra has since been seen supporting him at several races.
