Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will have to work with a new race engineer for the upcoming 2026 season after Scuderia Ferrari confirmed a shift in his engineering lineup.

According to the official F1 website, Ferrari confirmed on Friday that Riccardo Adami has moved into a new leadership role. The decision comes as the team restructures its trackside operations ahead of the 2026 regulation reset.

"His extensive trackside experience and Formula 1 expertise contributes to the development of future talent and to strengthening performance culture across the program," Scuderia Ferrari added.

Adami’s departure from the trackside position ends a partnership that saw mixed results during the British driver’s debut year at Maranello, where tense radio exchanges and a lack of podium results drew scrutiny throughout the 2025 campaign.

Ferrari has not yet named Hamilton’s new race engineer. Still, the appointment is expected to be finalized before pre-season testing in Barcelona later this month, where teams will begin running their 2026 cars under revised technical regulations.

“The appointment of the new Race Engineer for car #44 will be announced in due course,” the statement concluded.

The change comes as Scuderia Ferrari prepares for a pivotal season with a refreshed technical direction and high expectations for improved results following a challenging 2025.

In summary, Hamilton’s new engineering pairing will be a key component of his 2026 campaign as he seeks to return to the podium and compete for further success with the Scuderia.
