Every year, all eyes are on Lewis Hamilton at the British GP. Thousands of fans come to Silverstone to cheer for the local hero. This time is even more special for the seven-time world champion as he makes his debut at his home track as a Ferrari driver. Hamilton has now revealed that he will be racing to get his dream result on Sunday after a decent qualifying performance.

Ferrari has continued to fall behind Red Bull and McLaren in the past few races. This weekend the Scuderia still is not up to speed with the frontrunners. However, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc found some decent pace. Hamilton managed to qualify in fifth place, with the Monegasque driver starting the race from sixth.

Lewis Hamilton asserted that he was feeling a lot more comfortable with the car this weekend, something that had been a major problem since the start of the year. Moreover, the seven-time world champion was full of praise for the home crowd.

I definitely feel a lot better in the car this weekend. This track is incredible, the crowd’s been amazing.

Lewis Hamilton said post-Qualifying

Hamilton claimed that now he plans to dream of taking his first podium of the season on Sunday. The 40-year-old will push himself to the limit to secure this result. Though, this would not be so easy. Additionally, Hamilton reckoned that weather could play a major factor in the race, as it could lead to some interesting strategy calls.

I’ll dream of [a podium] tonight and try and execute tomorrow. The weather’s going to be interesting, I imagine it’s dry probably for the race but it would be cool if it’s drizzling. We’ll see.

Lewis Hamilton wants more out of Ferrari SF25

The Ferrari SF25 has remained in a ‘no man’s land’ when it comes to performance. Maranello is the only team in the top 4 to not have won a race yet. While Hamilton and Leclerc do battle up the front, the two are still unable to put forth a clear challenge to Red Bull or McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton admitted that he would’ve liked just that tiny extra bit of performance from the car this weekend, that could’ve propelled him further up the grid. If Ferrari could’ve made more gains in pace, the 40-year-old might’ve been able to have a real shot at victory on Sunday.

I wish – naturally we need a little bit more, we need like another tenth of performance in the car just to edge a little bit closer to the front guys.

Lewis Hamilton stated

Certainly, Hamilton has gained some confidence from his decent outing in Qualifying. This boost in morale was much-needed for the seven-time world champion. Lewis Hamilton’s debut Ferrari campaign has been full of problems so far. But a good result at his home track would indeed lift up the spirits of the F1 star.
