Max Verstappen reveals hilarious driver’s license test story

Max Verstappen joined the Formula 1 grid back in 2015, setting the record for the youngest ever driver to compete in the fastest cars in the world at just 17. However, the racing driver who regularly sped away at 300km/h did not get his license until he reached the eligible age a year later.

Verstappen shared a hilarious story from the driver’s license test that he had to embark on. Starting off with going left in contrast to the examiner’s orders, Verstappen went on to drive past pedestrians at a crossing, reasoning that they had not reached the crossing yet which meant he did not have to stop.

The examiner told me to go right and I went left. Then I didn’t give way [to pedestrians at a crossing]. He was not very happy. I argued with him because I thought they were not actually at the crossing. So I was, like, 'But they’re not there yet, so why should I stop? Max Verstappen said in an interview with The Times

Verstappen’s age obstructing his driving escapades did not end when he got his license, however. The Dutchman recently had to settle for a slower car while on vacation as the dealership did not issue him the one he wanted due to his age.
