Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur was notably absent from the Monaco Grand Prix paddock on Saturday after the Scuderia confirmed that the Frenchman had undergone medical checks and would miss the crucial qualifying session.

The announcement came just hours before cars took to the streets of Monte Carlo for one of the most important qualifying sessions of the Formula 1 calendar. Ferrari revealed that Vasseur was receiving medical attention at a local hospital and would remain under observation, though the team declined to provide further details regarding his condition.

The 58-year-old had been present at the circuit throughout Friday's running, overseeing Ferrari's preparations and speaking with the media as usual. His absence on Saturday, therefore, came as an unexpected development during a weekend that had started positively for the Maranello-based squad.

In a brief statement, Ferrari stressed that Vasseur's privacy would be respected and that no additional information would be released at this stage. The team also expressed confidence that he would make a full recovery.

Ferrari has not revealed the nature of the issue, citing privacy concerns. Sporting director Diego Ioverno led trackside operations as the team expressed confidence in Vasseur's recovery.

Vasseur's hospitalization comes at a significant moment in Ferrari's season. The Italian outfit arrived in Monaco showing some of its strongest pace of the year, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton both featuring near the top of the timesheets during practice at Monaco GP.

For now, Ferrari's focus remains on its Monaco challenge while awaiting further updates on its team boss. Despite Vasseur's absence, Ferrari's leadership team continued to oversee operations throughout the Monaco weekend.

Across the Formula 1 paddock, however, the priority is clear: wishing Vasseur a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back on the pit wall as soon as possible.
