'You drove like a Champion,' F1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart showers immense praise on Charles Leclerc after his DOMINANT win in the Monaco GP

F1 legend, Sir Jackie Stewart spoke in immense praise of Scuderia Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc after he won in his home race of Monaco for the very first time on Sunday. Leclerc dominated the entire race from start to finish, leading every single lap to secure the win.

Sir Jackie Stewart is regarded as one of the absolute legends of the sport, with three drivers championships to his name. Sir Stewart raced between 1965 and 1973, in which he won three titles and remained the only ever British driver to do so until Lewis Hamilton in 2015.

The Brit congratulated Charles Leclerc, praising him for his mentality of a champion. He further spoke on the importance and value of a driver winning in his home, which Leclerc impressively achieved on Sunday.

Leclerc remains one of the very few drivers who have been able to win their home race, and this hence, remains a treasured feat for him. Ferrari now stands in a position of advantage and will look to perform in the same way in the upcoming races to come.

Charles Leclerc revealed the turning point for Ferrari this season which according to him, has made them perform more competitively. Leclerc won the Monaco Grand Prix by a margin of over eight seconds.

I feel that the turning point of the season has been a few races ago already. We didn't have quite the car to win a race in the last few races. However, we did here, and I knew that the opportunity had to be taken, and I did. Charles Leclerc told the media including RacingNews365.

The Monegasque has been extremely happy with the performance of the team after a difficult season last year. Ferrari have picked up their pace and are keen challengers for the world championship.

The upcoming races will test Ferrari to their utmost limits as a three-way battle with McLaren and Red Bull heats up. Charles Leclerc will look to add more race wins to his tally while he continues to face the challenging pace of rival outfits in the upcoming weeks.
