Yuki Tsunoda rumored to be considering ditching Red Bull family to join Haas
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

Yuki Tsunoda has been performing exceptionally well against his teammate Daniel Ricciardo at RB. The Japanese driver has been scoring great results in the past few seasons. However, the 24-year-old has not been promoted within the Red Bull family to a better spot in Milton Keynes. Hence, Tsunoda has been rumored to be considering ditching the Red Bull family for another team.

Yuki Tsunoda has constantly been scoring good results and points for RB despite multiple issues faced in 2023. The Japanese driver outperformed his multiple teammates during the previous season. Additionally, during RB’s 2024 campaign, the 24-year-old has been performing far better than his Aussie counterpart Daniel Ricciardo. Regardless, the Red Bull family refuses to look into Tsunoda’s promotion.

As a result, Yuki Tsunoda might be considering joining the Haas F1 team in the coming season to ensure better prospects. Regardless of Haas’ current results being below RB, the 24-year-old has better hopes in the American constructor. Chris Medland reckoned that the reason behind this was the ‘lack of future’ within Red Bull.

Yuki Tsunoda is also interested in Haas as he looks at a future away from the Red Bull program.

Chris Medland said, as reported by racer.com.

Yuki Tsunoda’s departure could enable Liam Lawson’s entry into RB

Liam Lawson‘s short but impressive debut in the 2023 season had raised the eyebrows of multiple people in the paddock. The Kiwi driver was supposed to drive for RB in the 2024 season. However, Daniel Ricciardo was chosen over the 22-year-old driver. Hence, if Tsunoda seriously considers exiting RB, Lawson could gain easy access to the empty seat in the coming season.

Liam Lawson even took part in RB’s simulator work during the Imola weekend and impressed the people in Faenza. Hence, the Kiwi driver will continue to eye down his well-deserved seat in the Italian-based constructor. Hence, Lawson could step up and score a full-time seat within RB which could lead the team to further success under the prodigy.

Movement with the Japanese driver would open the door for Liam Lawson – who was praised for his simulator work for RB over the Imola weekend – to finally step up full-time. Chris Medland noted.

Yuki Tsunoda’s current performances will help him score a seat at Haas with ease. However, it is up to the RB authorities how much they are willing to withhold the Japanese driver. The 24-year-old has outshined his teammates by all means and has showcased sheer will to improve down the season. Hence, time will tell about how the contractual situation fares for Tsunoda in the pinnacle of motorsport.
