2023-24 Outdoor Track & Field Schedule Released

Kentucky’s track and field program has recently unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 outdoor season. This highly-anticipated schedule includes nine regular-season meets and three postseason meets, culminating in the USA Olympic Team Trials in June ahead of next summer’s 2024 Olympic Games.

One of the highlights of the schedule will be the Jim Green Invitational and the NCAA East First Rounds, both of which will be hosted by UKTF at the prestigious Outdoor Track & Field Complex in 2024.

The outdoor season will kick off in Tampa, Florida with the USF Alumni Invite on March 15-16. Following that, the Wildcats will divide their squad, with the multi-event participants heading to the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and the distance squad traveling to Palo Alto, California for the Stanford Invitational. The rest of the squad will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the Battle on the Bayou on March 29-30.

On April 6th, Kentucky’s track and field team will travel to two separate Southeastern Conference foes, participating in the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Wildcats will make their first trip to Gainesville, Florida on April 12-13 for the Tom Jones Memorial Invite. This will be followed by a return home to Lexington on April 19-20 for the highly anticipated Jim Green Invitational.

Closing out the regular season, Kentucky will head to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays on April 24-27.

The Wildcats will then return to their home track on May 22-25 for the NCAA East First Rounds, where they will compete against tough competition. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will take place in Eugene, Oregon from June 5-8, just two weeks before the USA Olympic Team Trials.

Last year, Kentucky’s track and field team had a strong performance at the outdoor NCAA Championships, with the women’s team finishing in sixth place and the men’s team finishing in 36th place.
