2024 NASCAR New Year’s Resolutions: RFK Racing, Rick Ware Racing
David TuckerNews-Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK

One of the newest and most interesting partnerships in 2024, RFK Racing and Rick Ware Racing are both hoping for a big season. RWR got the NASCAR Silly Season going when they announced the signing of Justin Haley during the 2023 season. RFK helped sell Haley on the move.

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, these two teams both have room for improvement. However, they are two organizations that are in different places when it comes to their spot in the Cup Series standings.

When the season was over, RFK Racing had two playoff drivers. Chris Buescher won three races in five weeks to end the regular season. Then there is Rick Ware. While they aren’t the most exciting team, they have a role here. RWR has to show NASCAR they are worthy of holding onto those two charters for the foreseeable future.

Rick Ware Racing Resolutions:
– Give Justin Haley a chance
– Do what is best for the organization
– Improve throughout the season
– Take advantage of new alliance and building

RFK Racing Resolutions:
– Win early and often
– Two playoff drivers in the Round of 8
– Have fun and get results with Stage 60
– Show superspeedway prowess, win two races

It is clear that Rick Ware Racing has room to grow and improve. Giving Haley a chance to shine is a must. Focusing on what is good for the organization, especially in that second car, is vital to a good 2024. Show improvement and use your new alliance and resources to succeed.

For RFK Racing, the wins have to come early and often. Between Buescher and Brad Keselowski, there should be a few checkered flags in 2024 for the organization. Both drivers need to make deep playoff runs as well.

With RWR and the Stage 60 car, superspeedways should be a strength, get a couple of drafting wins in 2024.

RFK Racing, RWR Driver Resolutions

Each driver has their own agenda. We know that Buescher and Keselowski can work very well together. The Coke Zero 400 showed us that to end the regular season. While every team has Daytona circled on the calendar, RFK and RWR both should feel like a win is not only possible but well within their grasp.

So, in 2023, each of these wheelmen had their own ups and downs. The same will likely be said after 2024. Still, there are plenty of resolutions to make.

Chris Buescher Resolutions:
– Win 3+ races
– Take the next step up, prove you are a championship driver
– Win a crown jewel race
– Breakthrough on the road courses

Repeating a three-win season will be tough, but not out of the question. In 2024, Buescher needs to take that next step and become a championship-caliber driver for RFK Racing. Another achievable goal for Buescher, winning a crown jewel race. Finally, let’s see a breakthrough on the road and finally get a win after so many top-10s.

Justin Haley Resolutions:
– Show that RWR was the right decision
– Outperform results from Kaulig in 2023
– Learn from Keselowski as much as possible
– Be selfless, help RFK whenever possible

Haley needs to prove a few things. To start, prove you made the right call by going to Rick Ware. The easiest way to do that, outperform your 2023 season. In this alliance, learn as much as you can. Namely, from Keselowski. Finally, be selfless and help RFK when you can. No one expects you to give up a win for the No. 6 or 17 cars, but be a good “teammate” and work with them on track.

Brad Keselowski Resolutions:
– Win a race
– Stay consistent
– Push Buescher to a win or two
– Have fun and appreciate everything

Pain and simple, Keselowski needs a win in 2024. It hasn’t happened in years at this point. The way to do that is build off of his consistency in 2023. I think he can also push Buescher to a win or two like he did last season. Most of all, Keselowski should have fun and appreciate every moment. He’s of the age where retirement talk starts to be real.

While I’m not casting Keselowski off to the home yet, it is something to think about.
