2025 three-star guard CJ Shaw committed to UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night. Shaw chose the Gauchos over Saint Mary’s, UNLV, Utah State, West Virginia and Xavier.
Shaw took recent visits to Washington and UNLV, while also trying to set up a visit to West Virginia but nothing was finalized.
“Wherever I go, I just want to enjoy the moment since it’s only once in a lifetime,” Shaw told WVSN in September.

Shaw is a native of Las Vegas and currently attends Mojave High School while playing circuit ball for Vegas Elite. Shaw picked up an offer from West Virginia on July 16. Shaw mentioned that WVU associated head coach Chester Frazier had been in talks with him during his recruitment.
On Wednesday, 2025 top-125 guard Lino Mark chose Rutgers over Seton Hall, USC and West Virginia. Mark did make a trip to Morgantown for an official visit. Mark is a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports and has received offers from Arizona State, Cal State Northridge, Pepperdine, Portland, SMU, TCU, UC Santa Barbara, Utah, Washington State, WVU and others. Frazier visited Mark in-person at his high school.
