Who’s ready for the 2025 college football season?

Yes, all of the bowl games for the 2024 season still have yet to be played but the Big Ten officially announced the 2025 slate on Wednesday.

For Minnesota, it includes another Thursday night home-opener, the Gophers’ first trip to Oregon for a Big Ten showdown, and a matchup at historic Wrigley Field.

The Maroon and Gold’s non-conference schedule consists of home games against Buffalo and Northwestern State, plus a road game at Cal.

In conference play, Minnesota will host Rutgers, Purdue, Nebraska, Michigan State and Wisconsin while playing road games at Ohio State, Iowa, Oregon and Northwestern.

While game times aren’t yet set and select Saturday games could still be adjusted, the preliminary 2025 schedule for the Gophers is below.

  • August 28 – vs. Buffalo
  • September 6 – vs. Northwestern State
  • September 13 – at California
  • September 20 – BYE
  • September 27 – vs. Rutgers
  • October 4 – at Ohio State
  • October 11 – vs. Purdue
  • October 18 – vs. Nebraska
  • October 25 – at Iowa
  • November 1 – vs. Michigan State
  • November 8 – BYE
  • November 15 – at Oregon
  • November 22 – at Northwestern (at Wrigley Field)
  • November 29 – vs. Wisconsin

First, the Gophers will play in the Duke's Mayo Bowl on Jan. 3.
