A press release by NFL Communications revealed that those selected in the 2025 NFL Draft represented 246 high schools. However, the latter number will increase given the undrafted free agents who signed with some teams.

Unsurprisingly, IMG Academy was the only high school program with three alumni selected. The Dallas Cowboys selected offensive lineman Tyler Booker (Alabama) 12th overall, while the Philadelphia Eagles took Jihaad Campbell (Alabama) with the penultimate pick in Round 1. The Green Bay Packers chose defensive lineman Warren Brinson (Georgia) in the sixth round (198th overall).

Booker and Campbell’s selections continued IMG’s streak of having at least one first-round pick since 2020. It’s also the third consecutive year that two Ascenders went off the board in the first two rounds. The 2025 NFL Draft also made IMG Academy the first high school to have two first-rounders in back-to-back drafts.

Meanwhile, nine high school football programs had two representatives in the 2025 draft. Wide receiver Matthew Golden (1st round, 23rd overall to Green Bay Packers) and running back Jaydon Blue (5th round, 149th overall to Dallas Cowboys) represent Texas’ Klein High School.

Texas had three more high schools (Southlake Carroll, Manor, Pleasant Grove) with at least two draft picks, helping the state to a top-ranked 36 players selected. Other high schools with two alumni selected in the 2025 NFL Draft are Cass Technical (Michigan), Miami Palmetto (Florida), North Gwinnett (Georgia), and Servite (California).

Servite holds a special case because they became the second high school to have two picks in the top ten. The Cleveland Browns selected Mason Graham (Michigan) fifth overall while the Carolina Panthers took Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona) eighth overall. IMG Academy pulled it off first in 2024 when J.C. Latham and J.J. McCarthy had their names called.

Overall, the 2025 NFL Draft picks represent 41 states and the District of Columbia. With Texas and Florida leading this year, they’ve had the most selections since 2018 (243 for Texas, 242 for Georgia).

However, Louisiana leads the states with the most NFL players drafted per capita. Based on the 2020 US Census Data, Louisiana has one NFL player in every 465,776 people after ten players were selected. Georgia, Montana, Alabama, and South Carolina complete the top five.
