Formerly known as the Wells Fargo Championship, the newly named Truist Championship will tee off this weekend at Philadelphia Cricket Club. For the third year, the Truist Championship has been named a signature event, meaning the payouts are big and the field will be limited.

The Truist Championship purse has seen a dramatic rise in recent years, growing by 122% since being designated a PGA Tour Signature Event in 2022. That year, the total purse stood at $9 million, with a $1.62 million winner’s share. Fast forward to 2025, and the purse has jumped to $20 million, making it one of the largest payouts on the PGA Tour. 

The winner this year will take home $3.6 million, matching other elite signature events. The elevation in purse size reflects the tournament’s growing prestige and its place among the most financially rewarding stops on the tour calendar.
