2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Tennessee Vols commit since last August, approves of the latest UT football recruiting news.
2026 four-star wide receiver Tyreek King, a fast-rising recruit who has been committed to the Vols since last October, told On3 that he's shutting down his recruitment.
King, who is from Knoxville, is a player that's been mentioned in recent weeks as a recruit that could soon be elevated to five-star status. As a result, other programs aren't slowing down in their pursuit of the talented wide receiver. That's why it's a big deal for Tennessee that he's reportedly shutting down his recruitment.
And that news pleases Brandon, as evidenced by his tweet on Monday evening.

King recently mentioned that he was planning to take official visits to Missouri and Georgia, which led to some concern that another program could potentially flip the Knoxville native. Those concerns, however, were alleviated with King's announcement this week.

As for Brandon, other programs, such as Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU, are still trying to flip him from Tennessee, but he appears to be locked in with the Volunteers.
Tennessee currently has seven players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 27 in the nation.
