A 2026 three-star recruit that was previously committed to the Missouri Tigers was apparently quite surprised when he recently received an offer from the Georgia Bulldogs.
Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney wrote this week that 2026 three-star safety D'Montae Tims was "stunned" to receive an offer from Georgia.
Tims decommitted from Missouri earlier this month. He had been committed to the Tigers since early April.
From Rivals.com: After backing off his pledge to Missouri in recent days, Tims was at Georgia over the weekend and landed an offer from the Bulldogs which “stunned” the three-star safety from Seffner (Fla.) Armwood. Tims has a great relationship with safeties coach Travaris Robinson and that pushes Georgia right into Tims’ top five.
Tims, 6-foot-1/195 lbs from Seffner, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 77 safety in the nation and the No. 121 player in the state of Florida.
Gorney noted that Louisville and Vanderbilt are also very much in the mix for Tims. But if the Bulldogs make a strong push for the Florida native, it's hard to see anyone but Georgia winning this recruiting battle.
