Iowa Football learned its 2025 schedule on Wednesday afternoon when the Big Ten released slates for 18 conference schools. The odd-numbered season meant the Hawkeyes would play five league homes games and four on the road.
Oregon, Penn State and Indiana - all of whom reached the College Football Playoff this season - visit Kinnick Stadium next Fall. Minnesota and Michigan State also come to Iowa City. Albany and UMass of the FCS are the non-conference home games.
USC, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Nebraska play host to Iowa in '25. The Hawkeyes will be in Ames to face rival Iowa State in Week 2.
Schools now know the weekends when they will play each of their opponents, but there is wiggle room on which day. TV pays a lot of money to help make those decisions.
Mostly likely, Iowa will kick off the season against Albany on Saturday, Aug. 30. The school prefers no Friday night games because of parking and traffic concerns in sharing the area with UIHC. The next Hawkeye game in Kinnick on a Friday night will be the first.
Iowa's byes come up in Week 6 and Week 10. It faces Rutgers and Indiana before the first bye, and Wisconsin, Penn State and Minnesota after it and before the second bye. Oregon, USC, Michigan State and Nebraska round out the conference schedule.
