The Louisville football program has struck again in the Class of 2027, this time continuing to bolster their defensive front.

Charlotte (N.C.) Corvian Community defensive lineman Jesiah Fields announced Monday that he has committed to the Cardinals.

Fields chose Louisville primarily over Georgia Tech, Maryland, Rutgers and South Carolina. He also held offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Texas, USC and others. He's set to take his official visit to UofL on May 29.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound lineman is a consensus three-star prospect in the 2027 cycle, and ranks as high as the No. 16 player in the state of North Carolina and 50th-ranked defensive lineman, per ESPN. Fields comes in as high three-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite, ranking as the No. 585 prospect in the nation.

Fields is coming off of a productive junior campaign for Corvian Community. In eight games tracked by MaxPreps, he totaled 25 tackles (14 solo), 12 for loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery. He helped the Cardinals go 10-2 overall, which included a berth in the NCHSAA Class 2A state quarterfinals.

Fields is now the fifth defensive lineman to commit to Louisville in the 2027 cycle. He joins defensive tackles Sebastian Blue, Kaleb Exume and Cornelius Tims III, as well as edge rusher Munir Lewis.

With Fields now in the fold, Louisville sports a 14-man 2027 recruiting class. It currently ranks as the No. 14 class in the cycle, which is on pace to be the best class in school history. Four of their commitments are four-stars: wide receiver Chuck Alexander, wide receiver Ja'Hyde Brown, cornerback Allen Evans IV and tight end D'Angelo White.
