2️⃣ Reapers Take Over For Two Seed

Friday Evening Results:

 City Reapers 90, RWE 85

Cold Hearts 102, YNG Dreamerz 98 (OT)

The City Reapers won one of the best games of the entire season over RWE on Friday night, capturing a 90-85 win in what was a truly inspiring performance from both sides. Both teams came out ready to play but it was the Reapers who did just enough to push them over the top and keep them in the running for the two seed and the double-bye in the playoffs. Meleek Thomas, fresh off being announced as an MVP finalist, put together his fourth straight double-double with a team best 23 points and ten boards

Amari Evans had one of his best games of the season, finishing with an all-around stat line of 13 points, ten boards and six assists. Jayden Wilkins was on an absolute heater in the first half, scoring 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting from three point land

For RWE, Jasper Johnson was on another level, torching the Reapers to the tune of a game-high 33 points, which included a blistering 6-for-10 mark from three which is the second best single game 3pt% this season. Taylen Kinney took on more of a playmaker role in this one, dishing out a game-high seven assists while also notching 14 points ☝️

The Cold Hearts staged a big comeback and then promptly blew it in one of the craziest games of the year that ended with a massive 102-98 upset over the YNG Dreamerz in overtime. Trailing by as much as 11 in the fourth quarter, the Cold Hearts took on a role reversal, coming all the way back to take a seven point lead with 25 seconds remaining. The Cold Hearts followed that up by doing the unthinkable and blowing that lead as a result of careless turnovers and missed free throws that saw the Dreamerz take the game to OT. Adam Oummidoch was the hero though, saving the game by scoring all five points in OT as part of his 27 point night

For all of Oumiddoch’s heroics, this game might be remembered as the Diamant Blazi game who put up a season’s worth of highlights in one night from jaw-dropping dunks to gravity defying blocks to otherworldly passes. Jeremiah Faumuina went into take over mode late, getting to the rim at will to round out the night with 18 points ‍

The YNG Dreamerz were playing without Eli Ellis again and it was Jaiden Haynes who once again stepped in to fill his shoes, as he continued his blistering February with 19 points including the game-tying tip-in to send the game to OT. Taj Walters also put up a monster double-double, his second in a row, logging 17 points and 14 boards
