Even though 2026 isn't even half done, a staggering 33 shows have been canceled across the networks, cable channels, and streaming services already this year. Here is a complete list of the shows that were canceled, including series from Netflix, Peacock, Prime Video, and Apple TV.
Every year, the major networks and cable channels announce which of their existing shows will be returning and how many will end or be canceled. As of May 10, 2026, there are still several shows that are on the bubble, meaning their fates haven't been announced yet. On top of that, there are also some shows that have already or will be ending, which aren't included here. Even still, there have already been 18 series from cable and the networks that have been canceled in 2026.
For a long time, it has felt like the streaming services have been constantly debuting and canceling shows. As a result, it certainly wouldn't seem that surprising if the list of series that were canceled by those companies far outnumbered the network and cable shows that have been axed. Despite that, it turns out that hasn't been the case in 2026 as of now.
So far this year, Netflix has canceled far more shows than any other single television entity. However, because most of the streaming services haven't given that many series the ax, only 15 shows have been canceled across them all combined in 2026. As was the case with the networks and cable channels, any streaming shows that finished in 2026, instead of being canceled, weren't included in the tally.
