Former NFL running LeGarrette Blount knows a little bit about winning, as he’s done plenty of it at football’s highest levels. The bruising running back ran his way to three Super Bowl victories and is now looking to give back to his hometown of Perry, Florida.
Blount reposted Thursday morning on X, formerly known as Twitter, a post by his alma mater Taylor County’s football handle a free youth football camp that will take place on July 5th at the Bulldogs’ Dorsett Stadium. The camp is being put on by Blount and Taylor County, from 8 a.m. ET to 12 p.m. and for grades third through 12th.

Blount was not heavily recruited out of high school, graduating in 2005 and ended up playing at East Mississippi Community College for two seasons before heading to play for the Oregon Ducks.
The tailback blossomed into one of college football’s top running backs back in 2008, rushing for over 1,000 yards for the Ducks.
After his college playing days, Blount went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft and eventually was signed by the Tennessee Titans. Blount was released by Tennessee and was later signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and from there, became only the second undrafted running back in NFL history to surpass the 1,000-yard mark.
Blount later in his NFL career played for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, whom he won Super Bowls XLIX, LI and LII with. For his professional career, Blount rushed for over 6,00 yards and found paydirt 56 times from 2010 to 2018 between playing for the Buccaneers, Eagles, Patriots, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, respectively.
There’s another Blount coming up the pipeline on the high school level as LeGarrette Blount Jr. looks to be next in the family bloodline. The younger Blount, who has offers from Marshall and North Carolina, currently attends Mountain Pointe (Arizona) and plays linebacker for the Pride.
