GAINESVILLE, Fla.-- A day before he makes his decision, the Florida Gators have received a prediction to land Douglasville (Ga.) South Paulding four-star tackle Tyler Chukuyem from On3's Blake Alderman and 247 Sports' Tyler Hardin.
Alderman's and Hardin's individual predictions came after Chukuyem, On3's No. 26 tackle in the class, took an official visit with the Gators this weekend, and Florida made a strong final impression as Chukuyem's decision looms.
Still, Chukuyem is going to weigh each school evenly and evaluate each option before he makes his announcement, which is expected to come sometime Monday afternoon.
"I'm just gonna evaluate everything from every school that I went to and make my final decision tomorrow," he said Sunday after leaving his visit. "... All neutral right now. Later today and tomorrow is where I'm going to narrow it down to the final school."
Chukuyem will be choosing between Florida, Cincinnati, Florida State and Ole Miss. He previously visited Ole Miss on May 30 and Cincinnati on June 5. He broke down what will play the biggest factors when making his decision.
"School, education, it's going to be very important. Coaching staff, it's going to be also very important. And then just, overall, the culture of the school," he said.
The educational side carries the most weight between him and his family, Chukuyem said, and the Gators made sure to emphasize that during his visit.
"They have a new little field coming up for what I'm trying to study. I'm trying to study data analytics. And they have like a really good education program. So that's really going to help out," he said. "I think I can get a good degree here."
Football-wise, the Gators view Chukuyem (6-6, 290 pounds) as a developmental tackle, and Florida's history of developing offensive lineman may give them an advantage.
"So they do see me coming as a tackle with my agility and my athleticism," he said. "So they're gonna have me on the board as a tackle, and the development of the offensive line itself is just self explanatory if you just look at the players, and things will be good for me."
After he makes his decision, Chukuyem plans on being loyal to the team he chooses but will keep an eye on what happens with his other finalists.
Should he choose the Gators, Chukuyem would be the third offensive line commit of the class, joining three-star guard G'Nivre Carr and three-star tackle Chancellor Campbell. He's also one of two Gators' offensive line targets to announce his decision on Monday with three-star thackle Javarii Lukas set to announce his decision, as well.
Luckas is also predicted to choose the Gators.

Eli Manning wouldn't help Giants QB Jaxson Dart with an unexpected request
New York Giants legend Eli Manning has offered to be a resource for Jaxson Dart as the young quarterback adjusts to life in the NFL, but scoring dinner reservations is not what the two-time Super Bowl champion had in mind. Manning spoke about his relationship with Dart during the latest episode of "The Schrager Hour" podcast with ESPN's Peter Schrager, which was released on Thursday. Manning said that after Dart was drafted by the Giants, Manning told his fellow former Ole Miss star to reach out if Dart needs anything at all. Dart took Manning up on the offer at the start of training camp. Manning, who played behind Kurt Warner as a rookie with the Giants, thought Dart might be looking to pick his brain about backing up Russell Wilson or something else related to football. Instead, Manning says Dart wanted Eli to secure him a reservation at one of the best restaurants in New York City, 4 Charles Prime Rib. "All of a sudden it's training camp and he calls me one day and he's like, 'You got a minute?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, of course,'" Manning recalled. "It's such a similar situation we're in — bringing in a veteran like Russell Wilson, they brought in Kurt Warner (ahead of me). I was like, maybe this is dealing with that or something. "He goes, 'Can you get me a reservation at 4 Charles tonight at 6:30?' I was like, 'No, no, no, that's not part of the deal. When I said I'm happy to help out, I'm not doing that. I'm not your reservations guy. You have to earn the right to call and get your reservation.'" You can't fault Dart for trying. Dart probably hasn't accomplished enough with the Giants yet to secure a last-second reservation at 4 Charles Prime, but Manning is royalty in New York. As Manning said, hard-to-get dinner reservations have to be earned. Dart saw some brief action during New York's 40-37 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but he did not attempt a pass. He is going to have to win a few games in the NFL before Manning will help him with fine dining.
Reporter offers theory on why Kirk Cousins has not been traded
There have been multiple injuries to starting quarterbacks through the first two weeks of the NFL season, which has led to speculation that the Atlanta Falcons might finally trade Kirk Cousins. It does not sound like that is close to happening. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Thursday that no teams have reached out to the Falcons about trading for Cousins despite injuries to Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow, San Francisco 49ers' Brock Purdy, Minnesota Vikings' J.J. McCarthy, New York Jets' Justin Fields and Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels. Cousins was once considered the type of player who would generate buzz if a team's starting QB were to go down. So why hasn't it happened? According to Rapoport, the Falcons have no real incentive to trade Cousins. Cutting the 37-year-old never made sense, as Atlanta has to pay Cousins anyway, hence why the asking price has not dropped significantly. "He is a proven starting quarterback who happens to be the backup quarterback. If Michael Penix gets hurt, Cousins will step in there," Rapoport said. "That allows the Falcons to drive a very, very hard bargain. In other words, if you're going to trade for Kirk Cousins, if you're a team that says, 'Alright, we gotta have this guy,' you're gonna have to pay some of the salary and you're gonna have to give up a real draft pick. That is the luxury the Falcons have. "If they've got to keep him, they can just keep him because he's an excellent, excellent backup quarterback. Perhaps that is why we have not seen a deal yet, but every time there is a real, long-term quarterback injury, we're gonna have the same conversation this season." Kirk Cousins was benched for poor play in 2024 Cousins lost his job to Michael Penix Jr. midway through the 2024 season. The four-time Pro Bowl quarterback got off to a decent start in his first season with Atlanta, but then played poorly for a stretch. Cousins finished with 3,508 yards, 18 touchdown passes and a career-worst 16 interceptions. There were numerous trade rumors involving Cousins during the offseason, but nothing materialized. That is mainly because he is only in the second year of a four-year, $180M contract. The Falcons do not seem eager to eat much of that salary in a trade, unless a team were willing to make it worth their while with draft-pick compensation. A desperate team could still want Kirk Cousins The Bengals are bracing for a lengthy absence for Burrow, who could potentially miss the remainder of the season. The other quarterbacks who have gotten hurt are not expected to be sidelined for very long. It is possible that teams aren't desperate enough this early in the season to give up assets for Cousins. There also seems to be a belief among some that Cousins' skills have declined, which makes it tougher for the Falcons to ask for much in a potential deal.
Clippers Were 'Terrified' Of Losing Kawhi Leonard After Ditching Spurs
The Clippers’ handling of Kawhi Leonard was anything but casual. According to a report from Baxter Holmes, the team enforced a strict protocol for how staff could speak publicly about their star forward, with one insider explaining just how much fear surrounded the situation. “If this guy is willing to tell the Spurs to go f*ck themselves, he’s not going to hesitate to tell us,” a Clippers source told ESPN's Baxter Holmes. “Everybody was afraid of Kawhi leaving.” It's obvious why the Clippers didn't want to lose Kawhi Leonard. When he's on the court, he's one of the best two-way players available as a two-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, and six-time NBA All-Star. With career averages of 20.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, he has very few holes in his game, and his impact on teammates is major. Back in 2019, Kawhi's stock was at an all-time high after coming off a championship with the Raptors. When he hit free agency, several teams raced to earn his commitment, all while he and his camp made illegal demands in the form of ownership stock, exclusive endorsement deals, and even a house. Those requests only came just two years removed from a bitter war with the Spurs, where he held out on the team and refused to play for them despite being cleared by team doctors. At the time, his camp claimed distrust of the Spurs' medical staff, and it was enough to effectively end his good relationship with the team right there. By the time 2019 free agency came around, Kawhi already had a history of sowing chaos, and it should have been a warning to the teams hoping to sign him. After a relatively quick process, Leonard joined the Clippers that summer, and it was supposed to usher in a new era of prosperity for the franchise. Instead, it's been nothing but disappointment with just three playoff series wins over the past six years. To make matters even worse, Kawhi hasn't been particularly easy to deal with. He reportedly doesn't communicate with the organization and often keeps them in the dark about which way he's feeling. That's on top of the injury struggles and load management practices, which have limited him to just 157 games over the past four seasons. Despite Kawhi's failures to lead the Clippers, they've done everything to appease him for fear of losing their biggest star since Chris Paul. Knowing what he did to the Spurs, the Clippers were determined to make it work with Leonard and ensure his happiness by whatever means necessary. Now, however, the situation has changed. Amid the latest scandal and his lack of achievements in Los Angeles, many on the Clippers are ready to move on from Leonard. His tenure has been a complete disaster, and the thought of losing Kawhi now might bring more feelings of relief than terror. With another two years and $100.3 million on his contract, Leonard is likely to play this out in Clipperland, but it's possible he could force his way out if he grows restless with the situation in Los Angeles. Until then, the Clippers have to do what they can to make the most of his presence and try to win a championship before losing their most talented star.
Bears veteran Grady Jarrett responds to Ben Johnson’s practice habits critique
The Chicago Bears are 0-2 to begin the 2025 NFL season and the new era with head coach Ben Johnson. The Bears lost a heartbreaker in Week 1 to the Minnesota Vikings, 27-24, in Chicago. Week 2 was much, much worse, as the Detroit Lions – Johnson’s former employer- blew the Bears out with a 52-21 final score. Johnson is not happy early on, and he held nothing back while discussing the Bears’ practice habits. “Our practice habits are yet to reflect a championship caliber team,” Johnson said ahead of Week 3. Well, veteran defensive lineman Grady Jarrett heard that feedback and had a response on Thursday, via CHGO Bears. “As a coach, you always want to challenge them to be better. We always want to put our best foot forward…Up to this point, we haven’t won a game,” Jarrett said. “He our head coach, he our leader, and if he said it wasn’t good enough, then we had to answer the call.” The Week 2 loss was so lopsided that Caleb Williams was removed in the fourth quarter in a surprising turn of events. Still, Johnson made his feelings clear about the way the team has practiced so far this season. Jarrett, on the other hand, is a veteran end who entered the thing in 2015, and he took the high road and showed support for his head coach despite the comments. In Week 3, the Bears face the Dallas Cowboys at home, which will be a tough test. It will be interesting to see how the team responds, especially after the new head coach just threw his players under the bus not even one month into the regular season. After that, the Bears face the Las Vegas Raiders on the road before a Week 5 bye, and the hope is that Chicago can find a way to get a victory sooner rather than later.
