Burries was a five-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class and the 11th-best recruit in the country, per 247Sports composite rankings. He joins an Arizona program that has reached the Sweet 16 in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.
Arizona lost to Duke in the Sweet 16 but will still have a great team for the 2025-26 season.
Burries averaged 29.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for his high school during his senior season this past year. He'll get some playing time right away as a freshman and could be a catalyst for a big Wildcats run in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
Tommy Lloyd is the head coach of the Wildcats and has been with them for the last four seasons. He has led them to the NCAA Tournament in all four seasons and has a 112-33 overall record.
He'll be tasked with developing Burries into one of the top players in the country next season.
The 2024-25 college basketball season ended in thrilling fashion on Monday when the Florida Gators overcame a 12-point deficit to beat the Houston Cougars by two points, 65-63.
The Gators won their first national title since 2007 after getting really hot once the calendar flipped to 2025. They had been the hottest team in the country over the past few months.
They will try to defend their title next season while teams like the Wildcats try and dethrone them.
