The New York Giants had an extremely busy offseason, with some of their biggest additions coming from the 2025 NFL Draft, where they ended up selecting a total of seven players.
The first one they took off the board, and the one who will be facing a lot of expectations in 2025, is EDGE Abdul Carter, whom they selected with the No. 3 pick out of Penn State.
They've already gotten their first look at Carter in person, holding their rookie mini camp from May 9-10, and on Thursday, the team announced they'd officially signed him to his rookie contract.
Quickly after inking the deal, the newest member of the Giants went to social media to say, "Alhumdullilah Beyond Blessed."

Beyond Blessed
This now means Carter is under contract through the 2028 season and is set to make $45.2 million over the next four years with all of it guaranteed, and since he was a first-round pick, the Giants could use a fifth-year option in 2029.
Of course, he had an amazing 2024 season for the Nittany Lions, accumulating 68 tackles, 24 tackles for loss (led FBS), four pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
There's hope he can come in and immediately help the Giants' pass rush, which last year ranked 25th in pressures (126), tied for eighth in sacks (45), 26th in hurries (39) and tied for 21st in quarterback knockdowns (42).
If he can't, though, it would be a bit of a disappointment, as ESPN BET already gives Carter the best odds (+250) to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, which is well ahead of Atlanta Falcons EDGE Jalon Walker with the second-best odds (+650).
