Aces are ready to extend longest win streak of season against the Mystics

The Las Vegas Aces (23-14) hit the road on a three-game road trip starting in Washington D.C to take on the Washington Mystics (16-20) on Saturday, August 23 at 12pm PT at the CareFirst Arena.

The game will be televised locally on Vegas 34.

The Aces come into this game at No. 3 in league standings after a thrilling win against the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night. There are 7 games left in the regular season for the Aces to make a valuable playoff run.

Since coming off the bench, Jewell Loyd has helped lift the Aces up on the court. Loyd is close to a milestone of her own. She needs six defensive rebounds to reach 1,000 for her career.

This season, the Aces are 1-2 against the Mystics and they are 0-1 on the road. The Aces are looking to even the score with a win on Saturday.

Las Vegas is led by a core group of reigning league MVP A’ja Wilson, All-Star Jackie Young, the PointGawd Chelsea Gray, and newcomer NaLyssa Smith. Wilson leads the team averaging 26 points, shooting an impressive 48.5% from the floor, grabbing down 13.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.6 steals during the Aces win streak.

Jackie Young has been a spark on the court for the Aces continuing her aggressive play during the Aces win streak. Young is averaging 16.6 points since the All-Star break while also averaging 5.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game.

On the other side of the coin, Washington has lost 7 out of their last 10 games, but they did win 2 out of their last 4.

The Mystics are building around their young roster led by Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron. Iriafen is averaging 12.8 points per game while Citron is averaging 15.3 points per game. The rookie duo is averaging 28.1 points and 12.9 rebounds.

The Aces will continue their road trip as they head to Chicago (9-26) to take on the sky for the first time in the 2025 season on Monday, August 25 at Wintrust Arena.
