Texas wide receiver AD Mitchell announced his entrance into the 2024 NFL Draft this Tuesday. The Longhorns wide receiver caught a career-high 55 passes for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, including a touchdown in the College Football Playoff Semi-final.
Prior to his 2023 season, Mitchell shook up the college football world when he announced that he would be transferring to Texas (his home state) to be closer to his daughter Icylinn. Despite the surprising departure, Mitchell's relationship with Bulldog fans remained extremely positive and the receiver even garnered support from Bulldog fans throughout the season.
His positivity towards the Bulldogs was displayed in a social media post announcing his departure. During the post, Mitchell thanked both the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs' fanbases, coaches, and players for the support he received throughout his collegiate journey and stated that he was proud of his time at Georgia.

Mitchell was a part of both of Georgia's national title victories and scored a touchdown in all four of the Bulldogs' playoff appearances including a clutch go-ahead receiving touchdown in the 2021 National Championship and another go-ahead touchdown catch during the 2022 Peach Bowl.
Mitchell finishes his collegiate career with 93 catches for 1,405 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown in all five of his playoff appearances.
