Adam Schefter Details Trade Offer Raiders Received for Jakobi Meyers

The Las Vegas Raiders have a problem brewing just before the start of the regular season. Starting wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has requested a trade from the team after the two sides failed to agree on a contract extension.

He's set to play on an expiring deal in 2025, which is something he doesn't want to do. The Raiders don't seem keen on trading him away, but there are teams interested.

Raiders Have Received Meyers Trade Offer

Meyers has never been to a Pro Bowl and isn't a superstar, but he's a dependable wide receiver who could be an impact player on all 32 teams. However, it doesn't sound like there's a ton of interest in trading for him around the NFL.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders have only had one team reach out about Meyers, and they weren't offering a very good deal.

"My understanding is the Raiders had one team reach out to trade for Jakobi Meyers, but they wanted the Raiders to pay some of the $11 million salary, and the Raiders aren't willing to do that, and they're not looking to deal him," Schefter said on the "Pat McAfee Show."

This Could Help Raiders With Contract

Meyers might feel like he has earned a contract that pays him over $20 million a year. The Raiders must disagree, or else they'd pay him.

The fact that there isn't a robust trade market for him yet will only help the Raiders negotiate a price they deem fair. Meyers has only broken 1,000 receiving yards in one season, so he's not a big name around the NFL.

It's possible that he may have overvalued himself when he requested the trade. He has said in the past that he'd like to stay with the Raiders, so perhaps the two sides can agree to a deal if a promising trade never materializes.
