If you love Jordans, the 12s are most likely in your top five—no debate. Last year, Jordan Brand really spoiled us with what I like to call “the big three”: the French Blue, Taxi, and Flu Game 12s all hitting shelves in the same year. That’s not something we see often, especially with multiple classic colorways dropping back-to-back.

One pair that would’ve fit perfectly into that run is the Playoff 12s. Even though they last released in 2022, a quick four-year turnaround wouldn’t have hurt—especially considering how well the other OG-inspired colorways were received.

Air Jordan 12 'Playoff' History & Lore

The Playoff 12s originally dropped in 1997 and were worn by Michael Jordan during the Bulls’ postseason run to another championship. That alone gives this pair instant credibility—it’s not just a clean colorway, it’s tied directly to winning moments.

When they returned in 2022 after a 10-year drought, they didn’t get as much love as expected. Personally, I don’t have a pair in my collection, which makes me want a re-release even more. With how strong the 12s lineup looked last year, this colorway feels like a missing piece.

Where to Buy the Air Jordan 12 'Playoff'

Unfortunately, the Playoff 12s are only available on resale sites like GOAT, StockX and Flight Club.

The good news? Prices aren’t too crazy. With a retail price of $210, most pairs are currently sitting about $30–$40 above retail. For a classic with this kind of history, that’s honestly a solid deal—especially compared to other retro releases. Still, I’d much rather see these back on shelves. The demand is there, and if last year proved anything, it’s that sneaker fans will always show up for the 12s.

So the real question is—are you grabbing a pair now, or waiting for that next re-release?
