Someone tell Jordan Brand sneakerheads are thirsty for an Air Jordan 4 'University Blue' retro. The 2021 gem has seen prices rising on the resell market of late and there are a few reasons. The AJ4 is easily the hottest silhouette in the game right now. Two, that North Carolina Tar Heels MJ energy is an infinite draw. If you've been bitten by the bug, you might wanna move on these soon. Let's talk sneakers.

The AJ4 'University Blue' is available on the resale market. StockX has it at $347 with a three-month average of $404 across 363 sales. GOAT lists it around $411.
With so many hot AJ4 colorways dropping this year, sneakerheads are looking for every kind of iteration from one of the most iconic sneakers in Jordan Brand's catalog. That and college basketball energy might have a lot to do with the spike in popularity.
There is also no University Blue retro on the 2026 AJ4 calendar. The lineup includes Toro Bravo, Bred, Tour Yellow, BIN 23 and the J Balvin collab, but no UNC. The longer it stays off the schedule, the further resale climbs from the original $200 retail.
PEs are usually dope in general, but there is something special about North Carolina PEs. While the University Blue isn't a PE, it feels like one, and that gives it a special edge.
The retail version draws directly from the ultra-rare 2019 AJ4 UNC PE gifted to Tar Heel student-athletes for March Madness. Those pairs are numbered and essentially impossible to acquire. The retail University Blue gave the public the closest version of that colorway.
I'm not going to advise someone to spend more than $300 on a pair of sneakers. That's my personal limit, but if you got it and don't mind spending it, I understand because these are beautiful sneakers.
University Blue suede, cement grey speckle, black wings and a "23" jock tag on the tongue. If you appreciate the Air Jordan 4 silhouette and MJ's Tar Heel roots, this one speaks for itself.
