The Air Jordan 9 is a hit-and-miss silhouette with most sneakerheads. There are some, like myself, who love the 9s. Others rank it as one of their least-favorite OG Jordans. The Cool Grey concept is not as hit-and-miss. Most love this look in just about any silhouette. With the AJ 9 'Cool Grey,' we have both elements. Let's talk sneakers.

The resale prices for the AJ9 Cool Grey are beyond reasonable. It is easy to see that this one sat when it released in 2025. StockX's lowest ask is sitting around $131, which is well below the $210 retail and a better deal than most buyers will find at any retail door.
GOAT and Flight Club are also worth scanning depending on size and condition preference. For a shoe with this kind of colorway pedigree, the current resale market is as friendly as it gets.
Even if you're not a big fan of the AJ9, you have to admit it wears the Cool Grey colorway well. The grey nubuck upper pairs with a Cool Grey patent leather mudguard, white midsole, and a semi-translucent outsole that keeps the silhouette looking sharp.
The stitched "23" on the heel and the one-pull lacing system stay faithful to the 2002 original, and the 2025 retro doesn't take any shortcuts on the build. This is the AJ9 at its visual best.
Just about any version of the Cool Grey will resonate on some level, and the AJ9 is no exception. The 2025 release marked just the third time this colorway hit retail — 2002, 2012, and now 2025 — and each run has carried the same quiet demand from AJ9 loyalists.
There's also the MJ connection: the Cool Grey 9 is one of the few non-OG AJ9 colorways Jordan actually wore on a basketball court during his Wizards era. That's a piece of history that sets this pair apart from every other non-OG AJ9 makeup, including the other AJ9 retros Jordan Brand has coming in 2026.
If you're interested, you should definitely grab a pair. Based on the resale prices, finding a pair shouldn't be an issue.

The fit runs true to size with the typical AJ9 feel — encapsulated Air in the forefoot and heel, firm but cushioned. At resale prices in the $130s, there's very little downside here for anyone who likes the silhouette or just wants a clean Cool Grey Jordan in the rotation.
