The 2025 NFL offseason has been incredibly giving for the Philadelphia Eagles, as members of the team have earned several preseason honors, accolades, and nominations after their Super Bowl victory.
Two players going into the 2025 season have impressed quite enough that CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin ranked them at the top of his recent list. Benjamin's top receiver duos of 2025 have DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, ranked as the NFL's top pass-catching duo going into 2025 after the duo combined for over 1,900 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season.
Both Smith and Brown only appeared in 13 games each; however, their play-making ability, along with clutch timing, gave them the nod over Tee Higgins and J'aMarr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals. Coupled with the tandem's postseason success, the Eagles host the NFL's top pass-catching unit, which should allow Jalen Hurts to continue to progress as a Quarterback going into his 6th season under center for the Eagles.
Despite dealing with injuries in 2024, both receivers continue to complement and, at times, dominate when given the opportunity. With the Eagles being the NFL's most efficient rushing attack, powered by a punishing offensive line, the ability for Philadelphia to effectively spread the ball around and amass almost 2,000 yards (with injuries preventing both players to play a full season), is extremely impressive.
The Eagles' passing attack could be even more dynamic this year with the acquisition of John Metchie III, while also allowing Jahan Dotson to maneuver into a WR4, possibly giving him more favorable matchups. The unit could be primed to allow Hurts to put together his best season as a passer with a plethora of weapons at his disposal, especially if everyone stays healthy for a full season.
While injuries are a part of the game, the key cog in the Eagles' success has been Howie Roseman. Whether it be through the draft or trading for players, Roseman has continued to find ways for the Eagles to build a championship-caliber roster that keeps them highly competitive for years to come.
