Kaleb Ballard feels earning an Alabama football offer was a pivotal moment in his recruitment.
Ballard attends Wetumpka High School in Alabama, and he is a member of the 2028 recruiting class. His offer list now includes offers from Alabama, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Purdue and several others.
The sophomore considers his Alabama offer to be a blessing.
“It’s a childhood dream,” Ballard told Touchdown Alabama. “I grew up an Alabama fan. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to go play there. I loved it. There’s nothing else like it.”
The Crimson Tide hosted Ballard for an unofficial visit on Friday. He was measured at 6-foot-5 and weighed in at 221 pounds during his visit. He also watched Alabama practice and was impressed with what he saw from the Tide’s offense.
“I liked how competitive it was,” Ballard said. “The offense consistently put their playmakers in positions to make plays at all positions.”
Ballard is a great blend of size and athleticism. Many are high on his potential to be a dangerous offensive weapon at the next level at either tight end or wide receiver.
