Alabama offers Benjamin Russell sophomore quarterback

Preyear is a 2028 quarterback prospect. He reports previous offers from Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and others. Preyear considers his Alabama offer a dream come true.

“It’s a dream to grow up a Bama fan, and to get the offer is amazing,” Preyear told Touchdown Alabama.

Alabama will look to host Preyear for a visit in the future, but no plans have been locked in. It is clear and obvious he has a lot of respect for the Crimson Tide program.

“The program speaks for itself from the tradition, family and success,” Preyear said.

The Tide’s new quarterback coach Bryan Ellis extended the offer to Preyear. It did not take long for the Tide’s incoming freshmen to make a pitch to the in-state recruit. Alabama’s incoming freshman wide receiver, Cederian Morgan, who was Preyear’s top target during the 2025 high school football season, told the talented signal caller to come home.

Preyear threw for 3,127 yards and 31 touchdowns as a sophomore for the Wildcats. He also added 564 rushing yards.
