Alabama football extended multiple official offers on Thursday including one to Elijah Golden.
Golden is a product of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida, and is a 2026 four-star defensive lineman prospect. The Crimson Tide are prioritizing him as one of their top targets.
The four-star is set announce a decision on Aug. 9 and will choose between Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and others.
Alabama hosted him for an official visit in June and emphasized player development.
“Just mainly about development,” Golden said when discussing Alabama football’s message to him. “Not you now, to you in three to four years. So, that was the main message.”
At 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, Golden is a strong and powerful defensive lineman prospect, who has the potential to line up at different spots along the defensive front. He previously shared he felt the Alabama defense would be a good fit for him.
“Their (Alabama) defense is very versatile,” Golden previously said. “I am a versatile defensive lineman. That would definitely be a good fit for me because I like to play three tech, all depends on the situation. I’m very versatile. I can go at any position on the defensive line and dominate, no matter where I’m at.”
