The Alabama Crimson Tide fell unceremoniously in the Elite 8 round of this year's men's NCAA Tournament by 20 points to Duke, but they have gotten some early good news about next season.
Jalil Bethea, a promising freshman guard who spent this season with the Miami Hurricanes, recently entered the transfer portal and has reportedly committed to playing for Alabama next season.
It is a sizable addition to the Crimson Tide's roster, as he's thought to be a promising young guard. He was considered a major recruit out of high school in the Philadelphia area, and he has ample size at 6-foot-5.
Ryan Williams, a wide receiver for the Crimson Tide's football team, showed his excitement about Bethea's arrival on social media.
"YA DIGGGG," Williams wrote.

Williams is a promising prospect in his own right. In 2024, he caught 48 passes and posted 865 yards and eight touchdowns while adding two more touchdowns on the ground.
As for Bethea, it is hoped he will add some offensive firepower to Alabama on the hardwood. However, he does have some growth to do.
He averaged 7.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.6 steals in 19.0 minutes a game, but he shot a paltry 36.8% from the field and 32.6% from 3-point range.
