As the 2025 season kicks off next week, the Detroit Lions have landed another player in the 2025 NFL Top 100. Amon-Ra St. Brown checks in on the list at number 20, improving three spots from his 2024 ranking.
St. Brown has been with the Lions since 2021, coming on as a 4th round draft pick. After working his way into the starting lineup in 2021, he's put together three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons, earning a four-year, $120 million contract extension prior to the 2024 campaign.
St. Brown, in that span, has also earned three Pro Bowls (2022-2024), while earning All-Pro selections in 2023 and 2024. In both of those years, he earned first team honors.
The Lions are once again primed to be one of the NFL's top led units this season. Led by Jared Goff and the running back duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, St. Brown anchors a receiving corps that features the dynamic Jameson Williams, veteran Tim Patrick, and up and comer rookie Isaac TeSlaa.
St. Brown is known for his clutch ability and sure hands being among the best in the NFL. He ranked top-five in receptions the past two seasons, while owning the highest single-season catch rate (81.6%) by a wide receiver over the last three seasons (min. 50 targets), dropping only one pass all year, per Next Gen Stats.
Alongside St. Brown on the list from 25 to 20 is pass rusher Danielle Hunter, tight end Brock Bowers, the ever-reliable tackle Lane Johnson, defensive end Maxx Crosby, and second-year phenom Jayden Daniels. Other Lions on the list include Jahmyr Gibbs at 27, Aidan Hutchinson at 55, Kerby Joseph at 71, and Sam LaPorta at 94.
We've yet to see Jared Goff, David Montgomery, or any other Lions defenders outside of Hutchinson and Joseph appear on the list.
St. Brown's statistics aren't just hollow numbers, either. The former USC Trojan continues to be an electric safety blanket for the Lions offense, converting 27 first downs against the blitz, while ranking top two in receptions on first down against the blitz over the past three seasons.
His 88 receptions against the blitz lead the NFL since 2022, per NFL.com, making him one of the more efficient/clutch pass catchers in the NFL.
