The No. 18/16 Louisville women’s basketball team will be returning to the KFC Yum! Center for a three-game homestand this week. The homestand will kick off with a matchup against Boston College on Thursday, January 25th at 7 p.m. ET. Louisville is excited to be back on their home court, where they have enjoyed a lot of success this season. They currently hold a perfect 9-0 home record and are 2-0 at home in conference play. Since joining the ACC in 2014-15, the Cardinals have an impressive 54-0 record at home against unranked ACC opponents.

Head coach Jeff Walz has a history of quickly bouncing back after a loss. The team has a record of 87-24 under Walz following a loss, and they have an even better record of 21-3 following a loss against ACC opponents. The Cardinals have only lost two-straight ACC games three times in the past 10 seasons.

Louisville’s Kiki Jefferson has recently been named to the Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 list for the top small forwards in women’s NCAA Division I basketball. Jefferson leads the Cardinals in points per game with 12.2, and is second on the team in assists and steals. She has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in 13 games this season. Jefferson is also an impressive free throw shooter, with a 89.7 percent success rate.

Olivia Cochran has also been performing at a high level for the Cardinals. Cochran leads the team in rebounding, steals, and blocks, and is second in scoring and field goal percentage. She has scored in double figures in 11 consecutive games, including a 14-point performance against the No. 23/24 Tar Heels.

Boston College comes into Thursday’s matchup with an 11-9 overall record and a 3-4 record in ACC play. They are coming off a 1-1 week, with a win over Wake Forest and a road loss to Georgia Tech. The Eagles have played some common opponents with the Cardinals, including Pitt, Miami, and Duke. The team is known for their defensive prowess, leading the ACC in steals per game and turnover margin.

This will be the 16th meeting between Louisville and Boston College, with the Cardinals holding a dominant 14-1 series advantage. Louisville has won each of the last 14 matchups and has a perfect record in conference matchups since joining the ACC. Head coach Jeff Walz also has an undefeated record of 13-0 against Boston College.
