College football rankings: Michigan dominates final AP top 25 poll of 2023
USA Today Images

As expected, Michigan is the No. 1 team in the final AP top 25 college football rankings of the 2023 season after the Big Ten colossus took down Washington to win the College Football Playoff national championship. The win earned the Wolverines all 61 first-place votes, and their first national title in the 21st century, since the program won it last during the 1997 season. What do the rest of the rankings look like as we put a bow on the 2023 campaign?

Washington finished at No. 2 as the national semifinal runner-up, the school's best finish since another No. 2 outing in 1991, when the Huskies were voted No. 1 by the Coaches poll, their only claimed national championship.

Florida State finished in a tie for 6th alongside Oregon after the Seminoles' sole loss, a historic 60-point defeat to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, capping off an eventful postseason in which FSU became the first undefeated, Power Five conference champion to be left out of the playoff, followed by scores of opt-outs.
